MainsMitraWho we are
MainsMitra (“we”, “us”) runs the website and app at app.mainsmitra.com. It helps students prepare for competitive exams with a personal study timetable, Prelims mock tests, Mains answer writing practice and test series. For any privacy question, write to support@mainsmitra.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not get your Google password.
- Study details you give us: your name, target exam year, daily study hours, whether you are a student or working, your background, attempt number and exam stage.
- Your activity in the app: your timetable and the tasks you tick off, your test attempts, answers, scores, time taken, saved questions and any question you report.
- Plan details: whether you are on the free or paid plan. When online payment is added, payments will be handled by a payment company; we will not store your card or bank details.
- Technical data: basic logs that every website keeps (such as time of a request and IP address), used to keep the service working and secure.
How we use it
- To log you in and keep your account safe.
- To build and update your study timetable.
- To run tests, calculate your score, rank and percentile, and show your results and solutions.
- To decide which content is free and which is part of the paid plan.
- To answer your questions and fix problems you report.
What other students can see
Test leaderboards show your first name, score and time to other students who took the same test. Your email address and other details are never shown to other students.
Google user data
If you choose “Continue with Google”, we use only your name, email address and profile picture, and only to create and identify your MainsMitra account. We do not read your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers listed below that run the app. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Who helps us run the app
We do not sell or rent your information. We use these service providers, only to run MainsMitra:
- Supabase for login and the database (servers in Mumbai, India).
- Vercel to host the website.
- Google for “Continue with Google” sign-in, and the Gemini AI service to suggest timetable topics. For the timetable, the AI receives only study details such as hours, stage and background, never your name or email.
- Hostinger to send login emails.
We may share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by writing to support@mainsmitra.com from your registered email. We will delete it within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep.
Your choices
- You can see and change your study details in the Profile section of the app.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion by email.
- You can stop using Google sign-in by removing MainsMitra from your Google account permissions at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Each student can read only their own data, and answer keys are locked until a test is submitted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
MainsMitra is meant for students preparing for competitive exams. If you are under 18, please use it with your parent's or guardian's permission.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
